NaijaBuilders
The construction materials marketplace built for Nigeria.

A B2B marketplace where builders compare materials and prices from verified suppliers, message them, order and track deliveries, and hire site professionals, on the web and in a mobile app.
Why
Ask anyone who has built a house in Nigeria how they found their cement, and you’ll hear something like: “I called a guy, who knew a guy.” Prices change from one market to the next. A supplier who was reliable last month stops picking up the phone. Half the week goes on chasing quotes and waiting for a truck that was due on Monday.
NaijaBuilders puts that whole process in one place.
Who it’s for
- Builders, contractors and developers search for cement, steel, wood, tiles, aggregates, fixtures and tools, put quotes side by side, and order from suppliers whose business details have been checked.
- Suppliers and distributors list their stock once and reach projects across the country. Orders, messages and enquiries arrive in one dashboard, and reviews build a reputation that follows the business.
- Service providers such as site crews and installers offer their services and get hired on the same platform.
What you can do
Browse materials by category and compare prices across suppliers. Check a supplier’s profile, ratings and verification before you spend a kobo. Message suppliers directly, with every conversation tied to the job it belongs to. Place orders and follow delivery updates, save products you keep coming back to, and hire professionals when you need hands on site.
Trust is the hard part of buying materials, so suppliers go through onboarding and a verification step before they get the verified badge. It won’t remove every risk. It does mean you know who you’re dealing with before money changes hands.
How it’s built
The web marketplace is a Laravel 11 app on MySQL, with Tailwind CSS through Vite and a light and dark theme that remembers your choice. It grew out of an earlier plain-PHP version; the move to Laravel brought proper routing, migrations and a legacy import path for the old data.
Most building decisions get made on site, not at a desk, so there’s also a mobile app in Expo and React Native, written in TypeScript. It talks to a dedicated Laravel mobile API through a service layer, includes an AR product visualiser for seeing products in place, and it’s in early access now.
Where it is
Not launched to the public yet. The marketplace is being finished, the first suppliers are coming on board, and the mobile app is being tested with early users.
